A Farmer's Son
“My story could be your story. As Filipinos, it must be our story.” Dado Banatao was born the son of a farmer in the rural Philippines. He grew up in poverty, without shoes or access to electricity. In the 1980s, Dado's innovations helped usher in the era of the personal computer. He pioneered the PC chipset and graphics acceleration architecture that continue to be two of the foundation technologies in every PC today. Along the way, Dado founded three companies: S3, Chips & Technologies and Mostron. This is his story, filmed in March of this year on location in Cagayan, Cebu and Manila. How Manny Pacquiao Became The GOD OF BOXING - From Poor Boy To Champion
How Manny Pacquiao Became The GOD OF BOXING - From Poor Boy To Champion Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest and richest boxers of all time. But this man was once a hungry 12-year-old who started boxing to feed his family. By Earning $2 per fight and sleeping on the streets in cardboard boxes, Manny Pacquiao knows all to well how hard life can be. I hope his incredible success story will inspire you to become the champion you were born to be. He was born in the Philippines. His family was so poor, that they often couldn't even afford food. So, the young Manny would go to bed hungry most of the nights so his younger siblings could eat. His parents separated when he was in sixth grade. And because his mother had really hard time feeding the entire family, he had to leave school. "We were dirt poor. I had to work since the age of 7 to help my mother feed my 3 siblings and me. We didn't have our own house, we didn't have land, we didn't have food. " "Many days I was lucky to have one full meal. On days when we had no food, I would drink a lot of water just to fill my stomach. And I remember when we were young, my younger brother crying asking for food to my mother. And my mother told us, just drink a lot of water to survive, and tomorrow maybe we will have food." Manny saw boxing as a way out of poverty, so his uncle started coaching him when he was 12 years old. And at the beginning he would earn $2 per fight. "Many of you know me as a legendary boxer, and I'm proud of that. However, that journey was not always easy. When I was younger, I became a fighter because I had to survive. I had nothing. I had no one to depend on except myself. I realized that boxing was something I was good at, and I trained hard so that I could keep myself and my family alive. He got a job at a local gym and stared boxing in his spare time. And soon, the young boy who didn't have anything to eat, who would drink only water to survive, who slept on the streets in cardboard boxes, who worked day and night to provide for his family, became one of the greatest professional boxers of all time. Manny Pacquiao is the only boxer in history to win 12 major world titles in 8 different weight divisions. He was the first boxer to win the lineal championship in five different weight classes. Manny Pacquiao was named 'Fighter of the Decade'. He was also elected as Senator of the Philippines. He became one of the richest athletes in the world, but he knows all too well what it's like to live in poverty. So his story inspired him to help those less fortunate. He is building homes for those living in poverty and tries very hard to give back to his country. "I am a fighter, not just because it is my profession. I was a fighter long before I first set foot in a boxing ring. All my life I have fought to live. Every single day in my youth, I fought for survival. Now, I do it and get paid for it. Then, I was lucky to get a piece of bread for it." "Miracles do happen. Dreams do come true. Being poor does not mean one must die poor. Hard work and persistence will set you free from the shackles of poverty. But it is faith that will take you to the very top. “Thank you to every person who has told me I can’t. You are just another reason I will.” Music: Ross Budgen Music: Emotional and Inspiring Music - Interstellar (Copyright and Royalty Free): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rbVt0z6NLM Images: - roger alcantara [ CC BY 2.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)] - inboundpass [ CC BY 2.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)] Inspire Yourself! This is the perfect place to gain that positive thinking and faith that life will someday be better. This is the place where are the most inspirational stories of people who failed in some point in their life, but they washed the dirt off them and kept going and going until they saw a light on the end of the tunnel. Life is hard, not fair and doesn’t care about your feeling, so stop being afraid and start to live! If you want to achieve greatness stop asking for permission. Go for it. So, What's YOUR Story ?
