With a parent note : Please check assignments daily in Google Classroom and complete assignments when you are able.You will have extended time to make up the weekly exams, homework, and classwork. If the assignment requires you to work with a group OR if you ned help, then check with Ms. Abernethy after class. You may need to come to Office Hours which are daily Monday to Friday during lunch.
You may retake any exam for a better grade one time per exam.Exam retakes are on Fridays during lunch. You must sign up for exam retakes at least 1 day in advance using this Form. You have until one week after the last exam of the unit was give to retake exams for that unit. If you have a score lower than a 3 (80% ), do the following :Complete the Exam Review (in Google Classroom) for all of the problems you got less than 4 (100%). Note : The Exam Review problems are different from the original exam. Come in at lunch for a verbal check point with Ms. Abernethy to make sure you are ready to retake the exam. Be prepared to explain your thinking.Retake the exam.Re-submit the assignment in Google Classroom to be regraded. If you have a score of 3 (80% or higher) or above, do the following :You may retake the exam without doing the Exam Review. Re-submit the assignment in Google Classroom to be regraded. '
Yes.You can turn in late work or redos until one week after the last exam of the unit. To have your worked graded, you must un-submit and re-submit the assignment in Google Classroom. Late assignments will be given a score or no higher than a 2 (70%) if solutions have been made available to the class.
Retake Exams with a score of 2 (70%) or lower to get a higher grade by the end of the Unit.
Exams are 70% of your grade, so this is the fastest way to bring up your grade. Start with doing today's classwork and tonight's homework. Stay on top of assignments going forward to make sure assignments are not missing or late.Complete this week's exam study guide and make sure understand how to do each problem. Going forward, complete the exam study guide before the exam so you will get a good grade on future weekly exams. Go back in the the current unit and complete all missing assignments in Google Classroom and/or redo all assignments in Google Classroom with a score of 2 (70%) or below. Remember to re-submit in Google Classroom for all assignments you would like to be graded again or graded late. Use the Aptos Math Supports & Resources for additional help or come to Math office hours daily at lunch for tutoring. Since late work can only be turned in until one week after the last exam in the math Unit, do extra credit homework assignments in the new unit to make up for missing points as needed.
Yes. Here are all of the ways you can earn extra credit in math class:The classwork Explore More slides and problems are extra credit There is a 4th homework each week that is extra credit. This assignment will not be accepted after the solutions are posted.Attend Back to School Night and have your caregiver complete a designated math assignment with your help. Complete a Math & Heritage activity before the last day of the month. Note : This extra credit will only count towards your grade after all the of the work for that unit has been completed. Extra credit assignments for a particular unit will not be accepted after the end of the unit.
Student athletes may miss class during the sport seasons and will need to manage their assignments. Here are a few guidelines :Exams : If you have a game you should come in to take the exam the day of the game during lunch OR the day after the game. Classwork : You should complete any classwork at home.Homework : The due date for homework will not be changed. Office Hours : Come in during lunch or get help as needed, or use the Aptos Math Department Resources to get help.
